Grafting is a horticultural propagation technique,
By joining two different plant bodies to each other.
They will be healed into a single organism then continue to grow.

In ancient Roman literature, grafting was both a blessing and an ill omen.
A โ€beneficialโ€œ change, a painful injury - grafting is the healing and rebirth after severances.
Like a human being departing from their familiar homeland and entering a new language and environment.
In the midst of the pain of division, the body fluids circulate in the whole again and heal into a new individual.

The work is a web of individual memories and emotions, and each thread is linked to the stories of immigrants or foreign students from various lands. When people touch the threads, they will trigger the narratives and memories from another soul. I hope that this work is not a one-dimensional depictions of the foreign experience or mere data, and instead, to echo the voice of specific and genuine individuals.
